Cooking has been a hobby since I made my first cake at 9 years of age. The cake turned out great but it will always be remembered at the cake with pea green icing. My adventures in the kitchen took me around the world as I developed my cooking skills on the spicy flavors found in Southeast Asian, Thai and Indian cuisine. You won't find me without a bottle of Tabasco and I used to carry it in my purse when I went to a new restaurant.
You can't have cooking as a hobby without entering a few recipe contests. I've entered several and placed many times but my claim to fame is a 1st place win several years ago in the soup category using Pace Picante Sauce. I called it Fiesta Red and its a rich tomato soup made with Pace Picante Sauce, tomato juice and refried beans.
